The style recipe
A style preset is a set of drawing decisions applied per panel, not a filter over a finished image. This is what this one holds.
- Line
- Variable-weight brush, thick contours, sparse interior detail
- Blacks
- Large flat spotted blacks, roughly 40% of the frame
- Light
- One hard source per panel, long cast shadows, blown highlights
- Shading
- Hatching in the mid-tones, no screentone, no gradients
- Palette
- Ink black to paper white, one optional spot colour
- Texture
- Dry-brush edges and rain streaks; grain stays out of faces
- Lettering
- Reverse captions — white text on solid black boxes
Crime, thriller, wartime, hard science fiction. Night exteriors, rain, single light sources, faces half in shadow.
Your story needs bright daylight, comedy timing or colour-coded characters — blacks this heavy flatten all three. Try flat colour or ligne claire.
What you get
Approve a character sheet once. Relevant panel jobs receive it as labeled evidence, and every output remains reviewable.
Bubbles and captions are vector objects. Rewrite a line for free, forever.
Every panel is its own asset, so one bad frame is one small job — not a new page.
300 dpi sRGB raster PDF with optional document bleed and crop marks, plus web-size raster files.
How it works
Describe the scene. Night, weather and a single light source do the work.
Panels, dialogue and cast are shown as text with the credit reserve before anything is drawn.
Panels arrive one by one. Redraw one, edit the words, switch the layout — Studio is free to open.
Pages in this style
Restyle is non-destructive — the version you already accepted stays in history.
